Guerzè & Co. Soap packaging machines

Guerzé & Co. has developed his know how coming from the experience of Mr. Guerzé who in the eighties has given a decisive boost to the building of packaging machines particularly Vertical Form Fill and Seal for filling and sealing bags and alongside this, new efforts have been spent for studying soap packaging units, designing Pleat Wrappers.
At the beginning of the nineties Mr. Guerzé has designed and presented the first unit packaging soaps using stretch film, developing an innovative and revolutionary wrapping solution.
Today the new company named Guerzé & Co. still produce packaging machines having a long and distinguished record.
To the pleats and stretch wrappers have been added also two units for wrapping hotel and toilet size soaps in the traditional double-point end fold style, full automatic and simple mechanical.
The company manufactures Pleat wrappers running at 30, 50, 75 and 150 pieces per minute and five models of Stretch wrappers running at 15, 25, 35, 50 and 75 pieces per minute. For completing the range of soap wrappers have been projected manual models named PW-1 and SW-1, for low productions.
Guerzé & Co. continue investing with economic and time efforts for growing year by year the quality of the machines and designing and manufacturing new models that can meet the different and increasing demands of the global packaging market.

PW-1

PW-1

MACHINE DESCRIPTION

Pleat wrapping packaging has been considerably growing in importance and popularity. It offers good protection from outside elements and enhances a nice final look of wrapped soap, denoting a high level of professional and serious skill.
PW-1 is a manual wrapping device suitable for rounded soap shapes: with this manual pleat wrapper it is possible to wrap soaps with a maximum diameter of 80 mm and maximum thickness of 40 mm. Being a manually operated machine, its performance is related to the capability of the operator. To obtain a good wrapped soap it is important to select a good quality paper or transparent film. The paper must neither tear nor deform and it must keep its original surface after the wrapping.
The Manual Pleat Wrap has a main rigid body fully steel material. The reduced dimensions of the machine allow an easy positioning on every working plane.
On the main body is installed a pleat format set. Each format set is composed by:

Upper ring plate
– Lower ring plate
– Pusher

Optional size part sets are available for soaps with different dimensions from the one fitted with the machine. The paper foil round or octagonal shape, is inserted between the upper and lower plating plate. The naked soap is put in the hole of the upper ring plate and pushed into the lower ring. The pushed soap force the paper foil to be pressed and so forming the pleats. When the soap in the lower position, the iris is closed and the pleats envelope the soap. The iris is opened again just for giving the space for apply the adhesive label.

SPECIFICATIONS

Speed : 3-4 soaps/minute depending on the operator ability
Soap dimensions (mm)
• Thickness: min/max 10/40 mm
• Diameter: min/max 40/80 mm
(The two maximum dimensions are not possible together). Max reel height 180 mm.

PW-30

MACHINE DESCRIPTION

The Model PW-30 Bar Soap Pleat Wrapper is designed to wrap with tissue paper, plastic or cellophane up to 30 round side banded soaps.

INFEED

The stamped soaps are fed onto a 1225 mm long and 80 mm wide and intermittent motion, flat belt conveyor ( basic dimensions).

PLEATING

The roll fed pleat wrapping material is cut into octagonal shape and placed under the soap. Excess wrapping material is discharged into a container with a vacuum system.
The soap and the wrapping material are lowered together into a pleating head assembly, which forms 24 pleats around the soap.

LABELING AND DISCHARGE

The folded pleats are kept in position by a mechanical controlled iris.
The pleating head, with the pleat wrapped soap inside, moves to the labelling station, where an automatic labelling group applies roll fed self-adhesive labels.
The pleat wrapped and labelled soap is discharged onto a chute which allows the soaps collection.
To vary the height of products, having the equal diameter, it requires a different width of the wrapping material

ELECTRICAL AND SAFETY FEATURES

  • Prewired electrical controls and operator panel according to CE rules
  • Plexiglas top and side covers with magnetic safety interlocks
  • PW-30 unit is a mechanical machine driven by cams.
